US tin plate imports down 51.1 percent in June

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 45,565 mt in June 2023, down 51.1 percent from May and down 56.9 percent from June 2022 levels. By value, tin plate imports totaled $83.4 million in June 2023, compared to $163.1 million in May and $184.1 million in June 2022.

The US imported the most tin plate from Netherlands in June, with 16,567 mt, compared to 28,579 mt in May and 22,948 mt in June 2022. Other top sources of imported tin plate in June include Canada, with 10,574 mt; Germany, with 9,575 mt; South Korea, with 5,250 mt; and Spain, with 1,117 mt.
