According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 39,989 mt in November 2019, down 14.9 percent from October and down 18.1 percent from November 2018 levels. By value, tin plate imports totaled $42.1 million in November 2019, compared to $50.9 million in the previous month and $49.2 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most tin plate from Netherlands in November, with 22,701 mt, compared to 10,456 mt in October and 26,035 mt in November 2018. Other top sources of imported tin plate in November include Canada, with 9,339 mt; Germany, with 3,813 mt; and Korea, with 3,028 mt.
