US tin plate imports down 0.1 percent in February

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 63,857 mt in February 2023, down 0.1 percent from January but up 1.2 percent from February 2022 levels. By value, tin plate imports totaled $114.9 million in February 2023, compared to $113.5 million in January and $97.2 million in February 2022.

The US imported the most tin plate from Netherlands in February, with 30,472 mt, compared to 10,584 mt in January and 14,122 mt in February 2022. Other top sources of imported tin plate in February include Germany, with 11,568 mt; Canada, with 10,461 mt; South Korea, with 5,052 mt; and Taiwan, with 4,775 mt.
