US structural pipe and tube imports up 19.8 percent in April

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of structural pipe and tube totaled 36,433 mt in April 2023, up 19.8 percent from March and down 2.9 percent from April 2022 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube imports totaled $56.3 million in April 2023, compared to $55.7 million in March and $71.5 million in April 2022.

The US imported the most structural pipe and tube from Canada in April, with 21,366 mt, compared to 18,873 mt in March and 19,341 mt in April 2022. Other top sources of imported structural pipe and tube in April include Mexico, with 11,256 mt; and South Korea, with 5,845 mt.
