According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of structural pipe and tube totaled 31,479 mt in January 2023, down 5.2 percent from December but up 5.6 percent from January 2022 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube imports totaled $47.6 million in January 2023, compared to $49.1 million in December and $60.3 million in January 2022.
The US imported the most structural pipe and tube from Mexico in January, with 15,841 mt, compared to 20,285 mt in December and 13,373 in January 2022. Other top sources of imported structural pipe and tube in January include Canada, with 9,618 mt.
