US structural pipe and tube imports down 3.4 percent in February

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 30,415 mt in February 2023, down 3.4 percent from January and down 3.7 percent from February 2022 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube imports totaled $51.7 million in February 2023, compared to $47.6 million in January and $61.7 million in February 2022.

The US imported the most structural pipe and tube from Canada in February, with 18,485 mt, compared to 19,515 mt in January and 14,991 mt in February 2022. Other top sources of imported structural pipe and tube in February include Mexico, with 7,993 mt; and South Korea, with 1,198 mt.
