According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of structural pipe and tube totaled 27,902 mt in July 2023, down 28.0 percent from June and down 12.4 percent from July 2022 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube imports totaled $45.9 million in July 2023, compared to $63.6 million in June and $69.6 million in July 2022.
The US imported the most structural pipe and tube from Canada in July, with 17,243 mt, compared to 20,427 mt in June and 18,210 mt in July 2022. Other top sources of imported structural pipe and tube in July include Mexico, with 8,769 mt; South Korea, with 6,249 mt; and Germany, with 1,289 mt.
