According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of structural pipe and tube totaled 34,533 mt in September 2023, down 10.4 percent from August and down 10.8 percent from September 2022 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube imports totaled $51.9 million in September 2023, compared to $63.4 million in August and $64.4 million in September 2022.
The US imported the most structural pipe and tube from Canada in September, with 18,404 mt, compared to 20,027 mt in August and 17,101 in September 2022. Other top sources of imported structural pipe and tube in September include South Korea, with 7,543 mt; and Mexico, with 5,122 mt.
