US structural pipe and tube exports up 12.9 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of structural pipe and tube totaled 8,416 mt in March 2019, up 12.9 percent from February but down 51.8 percent from March 2018 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube exports totaled $14.1 million in March, compared to $12.3 million in the previous month and $22.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most structural pipe and tube to Mexico in March with 4,348 mt, compared to 4,338 mt in February and 3,456 mt in March 2018. Other destinations included Canada, with 3,360 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export structural pipe and tube in March.
