US structural pipe and tube exports down 5.5 percent in January

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of structural pipe and tube totaled 9,378 mt in January 2020, down 5.5 percent from December but up 30.8 percent from January 2019 levels. By value, structural pipe and tube exports totaled $14.7 million in January, compared to $14.1 million in the previous month and $11.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most structural pipe and tube to Canada in January with 5,093 mt, compared to 5,823 mt in December and 3,010 mt in January 2019. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 3,485 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US structural pipe and tube exports in January.
