According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, monthly steel exports in November this year down 12.4 percent from October and down 9.6 percent year on year to 600,718 mt. In terms of value, US steel exports in November totaled $1.12 billion, compared to $1.15 billion in October and $1.17 billion in November last year.
Steel exports to Mexico in November were down 27.2 percent compared to October and were down 0.9 percent year on year to 307,243 mt, while exports to Canada were down 2.6 percent month on month and down 23.1 percent compared to November last year to 238,606 mt.
Other top destinations for US steel exports in November included the Dominican Republic with 4,053 mt, China with 7,823 mt, Brazil with 1,832 mt, India with 1,922 mt, and Australia with 6,625 mt.
Major steel products exported in November include HDG at 106,407 mt, hot rolled sheets at 55,702 mt, cut-length steel plates at 73,247 mt, cold rolled sheets at 68,578 mt, and plates in coil at 29,631 mt.
