By value, hot rolled bar exports totaled $29.7 million in December, compared to $30.7 million in the previous month and $37.5 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most hot rolled bars to Mexico in December, with 14,204 mt, compared to 13,666 mt in November and 22,761 mt in December 2015. Other top destinations included Canada, with 11,954 mt. No other destinations with significant tonnage (over 1,000 mt) were recorded for the month.
