US hot rolled bar exports drop 24.7 percent in April

US exports of hot rolled bar totaled 35,677 mt in April, down 24.7 percent from March but up 5.2 percent from April 2016 levels. By value, hot rolled bar exports totaled $37.8 million in April, compared to $46.5 million in the previous month and $32.2 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most hot rolled bar to Canada in April, with 16,643 mt, compared to 25,178 mt in March and 16,030 mt in April 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 17,317 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US hot rolled bar exports in April.
