US DOC rules to continue duties on light-walled pipe

On Tuesday, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the final results of its expedited sunset review of the antidumping (AD) orders on light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from China, Korea, Mexico, and Turkey

As expected, the DOC determined that revocation of these AD orders would be likely to lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping.

The DOC has not yet issued its final result in the sunset review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from China, but it is likely that the DOC will also make an affirmative determination in that review.

The US International Trade Commission is conducting a full sunset review of these orders. A negative injury determination by the DOC will result in revocation of the order, regardless of the DOC's decision.
