According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of heavy structural shapes (including U, I, H, L, and T section beams) totaled 19,332 mt in March this year, increasing by 50.0 percent compared to February and down 24.4 percent from March of the previous year. By value, beam exports totaled $30.88 million in March, compared to $20.27 million in the previous month and $27.76 million in the same month of 2025.
The US shipped the most beams to Canada in March with 10,180 mt, compared to 9,053 mt in February and 19,541 mt in March 2025. The other top destination was Mexico with 8,286 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US beam exports in March.
