According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of heavy structural shapes (including U, I, H, L, and T section beams) totaled 12,884 mt in February this year, decreasing by 15.3 percent compared to January and down 57.8 percent from February of the previous year. By value, beam exports totaled $20.27 million in February, compared to $23.62 million in the previous month and $33.02 million in the same month of 2025.
The US shipped the most beams to Canada in February with 9,053 mt, compared to 11,793 mt in January and 24,025 mt in February 2025. The other top destination was Mexico with 3,460 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US beam exports in February.
