Turkish rebar exports up 0.5 percent in January-March 2026, strong increases from Palestine and Peru

In March this year, Turkey's rebar export volume increased by 29.2 percent month on month and 46.1 percent year on year to 431,760 metric tons, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these exports totaled $239.90 million, up 30.2 percent month on month and 45.7 percent year on year.

In the January-March period, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 1.07 million mt, up 0.5 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 0.2 percent to $591.11 million, both year on year.

In the first three months this year, Turkey exported 202,665 mt of rebar to Yemen, down 24.5 percent year on year, with Yemen ranking as Turkey's leading rebar export destination, ahead of Palestine which received 100,571 mt in the given period, up 356.4 percent year on year. Palestine was followed by Peru with 66,608 mt, up 293.9 percent year on year. Despite the decline recorded in the three-month period, Yemen remained Turkey’s largest rebar export market, while the strong increases in shipments to Palestine and Georgia highlighted the shift in market distribution. Meanwhile, declines in traditional markets such as Romania and Albania limited the overall performance. The overall picture indicates that Turkey’s rebar exports have regained momentum in terms of tonnage, but the recovery has not yet been reflected to the same extent on the value side due to the decline in export revenues.
