Turkish PPGI imports down 61.1 percent in 2017

In December last year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports increased by 76 percent month on month to 4,080 mt, up by 137 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports increased by 64.3 percent month on month to $4.6 million, up 165.3 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In 2017, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 61.1 percent to 33,422 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $36.7 million, down 40.2 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 7,425 metric tons, down 86.6 percent year on year. China was followed by Belgium and Italy, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 6,700 metric tons and 6,596 metric tons respectively.
