Turkey’s wire rod exports up 4.7 percent in Q1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 27.8 percent year on year to 183,975 metric tons, up 62 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $107.67 million, up 61.4 percent month on month and rising by 73.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

 

In the first quarter of the current year, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 4.7 percent to 437,651 mt, while the revenue from these exports rose by 38.2 percent to $252.3 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 106,131 metric tons. Israel was followed by Belgium with 90,158 metric tons and Spain with 32,930 metric tons.
