Turkey’s Tosyalı-Toyo to build solar power plant in Osmaniye

Turkey’s Ministry of Environment and Urbanization has announced that the environmental impact assessment (EIA) application made by Turkish steelmaker Tosyalı-Toyo, a joint venture of Turkish steelmaker Tosyalı Holding and the Japanese steel producer Toyo Kohan, for its solar power plant project in Osmaniye in southern Turkey has been examined and that the environmental impact assessment process has begun.

Within the scope of the project with an investment cost of TRY 57.3 million ($2.99 million), a total of 36,038 solar panels will be built.

With the planned project, the power plant, which will be built with a power capacity of 19.10 MWp, is expected to annually produce 31.26 million kW of energy. The electricity will be used in the company’s cold rolling mill.
