According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in November this year Turkey's foreign trade deficit decreased by 4.1 percent to $4.11 billion compared to November 2015. In the first eleven months of this year, Turkey's foreign trade deficit declined by 11.8 percent year on year to $50.4 billion.
In November, Turkey's iron and steel exports ranked seventh among the country's products with the highest export value, totaling $534.57 million, increasing by 29.5 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given month the value of exports of articles of iron or steel, which ranked eighth among the products with the highest export value, increased slightly by 0.3 percent year on year, amounting to $444.4 million.
In the January-November period of this year, Turkey's iron and steel export value decreased by nine percent to $5.51 billion, while the value of its exports of articles of iron or steel declined by 9.6 percent to $4.54 billion, both year on year.
