According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's rebar (including round bar) exports amounted to 714,035 metric tons, increasing by 6.7 percent compared to the previous month and up 11.6 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $428.9 million, rising by 4.5 percent compared to the previous month and down 2.1 percent from October 2011.
On the other hand, in the first 10 months of the current year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 7 million metric tons, up 25.1 percent year on year, while the total revenue from these exports amounted to $4.4 billion, increasing by 19.5 percent as compared to January-October 2011.
In the January-October period this year, Turkey's rebar exports to the US, one of the largest rebar export destinations of Turkey, increased 115 percent, while rebar exports to the UAE decreased by 26.3 percent, both compared to the same period last year.
