In December last year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 602,362 metric tons, up 21.6 percent compared to November and falling by 10.8 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $244.6 million, increasing by 8.5 percent compared to December 2015 and up 23 percent month on month.
In 2016, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 6.75 million mt, falling by 4.5 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 13.8 percent to $2.55 billion, both year on year.
Last year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 1,364,853 metric tons, up 1.41 percent year on year. The US was followed by the UAE with 1,092,666 metric tons and Egypt with 844,287 metric tons.
