Turkey’s rebar exports down 3.85 percent in January-September

In September this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 597,047 metric tons, down 5.6 percent compared to August and falling by 2.47 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $233.3 million, decreasing by 32.5 percent compared to September 2014 and down 9.2 percent month on month.


 
In the January-September period, Turkey's rebar exports decreased by 3.85 percent year on year to 5.42 million mt, while the value of these exports stood at $2.4 billion, down 24.6 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2014.
 
In the January-September period of the current year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the UAE which received 1,112,229 metric tons, up 25.08 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by the US with 1,034,623 metric tons, up 78.16 percent, and Iraq with 509,172 metric tons, down 17.08 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
