Turkey’s rebar exports down 19.2 percent in 2017

In December last year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 375,096 metric tons, down 41.7 percent compared to November and falling by 37.7 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $194.9 million, decreasing by 20.3 percent compared to December 2016 and down 39.7 percent month on month.

In 2017, Turkey's rebar export volume amounted to 5.45 million mt, falling by 19.2 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 2.1 percent to $2.5 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the Yemen which received 708,898 metric tons, up 25.11 percent year on year. Yemen was followed by Israel with 699,417 metric tons and the US with 653,975 metric tons.
