In March this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 540,682 metric tons, up 14.7 percent compared to February and decreasing by 9.9 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $302.66 million, increasing by 23.3 percent compared to March 2017 and down 15.9 percent month on month.
In the first quarter of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 1.55 million mt, down 15.11 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 11.3 percent to $846.6 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Yemen which received 247,522 metric tons, down 0.9 percent year on year. Yemen was followed by the US with 188,801 metric tons and Israel with 169,230 metric tons.
