In June this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 359,324 metric tons, up 3.2 percent compared to May and decreasing by 20 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $199.9 million, increasing by 4.2 percent compared to June 2017 and up 1.5 percent month on month.
In the first six months of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 2.67 million mt, down 15 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 11 percent to $1.48 billion, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Yemen which received 409,645 metric tons, up 9.48 percent year on year. Yemen was followed by Israel with 284,257 metric tons and the US with 206,837 metric tons.
