Turkish steelmaker Kocaer Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Kocaer Çelik) has announced that it aims to diversify its clean energy production resources with geothermal energy production following the existing rooftop solar power plants.

The company plans to increase the annual electricity production of 15 million kWh from its rooftop solar power plants to a total of 60 million kWh with an estimated 45 million kWh energy to be added with its Horsunlu geothermal power plant investments. Thus, Kocaer will be able to meet all of its energy needs from the renewable energy sources it produces and will increase its competitiveness by gaining energy independence.
