In April this year, Turkey’s hot rolled coil (HRC) exports amounted to 175,191 metric tons, down by 12.8 percent compared to March and up by 164.5 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $121.65 million, decreasing by 13.5 percent compared to the previous month and increasing by 146.4 percent year on year.
In the January-April period, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 652,488 mt, up 100.2 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 86.0 percent to $445.53 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey’s largest HRC export destination was Italy with 133,406 mt. Italy was followed by Spain with 99,309 mt and Egypt with 81,281 mt.
