In June this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports decreased by 52 percent month on month to 55,534 mt and were down 3.6 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $37.5 million, rising by 51.8 percent month on month and up 6.6 percent year on year.
In the first half of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 423,682 mt, up 12.2 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 28.8 percent to $282.22 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 185,762 mt, down 0.59 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Belgium totaled 43,239 mt.
