In March this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports increased by 10 percent month on month 65,750 mt compared to the previous month and were down 16.6 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $38.87 million, increasing by 18.8 percent month on month and up 24.7 percent year on year.
In the January-March period of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 179,747 mt, up 1.2 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 39.6 percent to $99.8 million, both year on year.
In the first quarter, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 86,059 mt, up 25.75 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 28,065 mt, falling by 15.63 percent compared to the same period of 2016.
