In August this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports totaled 67,828 metric tons, rising by 27.5 percent compared to the same month of 2014, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $32.73 million, decreasing by 9.9 percent year on year.
In the January-August period, Turkey's cold rolled coil imports increased by a slight margin of 0.2 percent to 472,132 mt, while the value of these imports amounted to $267 million, falling by 17.4 percent, both year on year.
In the January-August period this year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 209,812 metric tons, up 1.03 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 81,590 metric tons, down 8.51 percent compared to the January-August period of 2014.
