Turkey’s CRC imports fall five percent in January-September

In September this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports totaled 47,309 metric tons, falling by 36.8 percent compared to the same month of 2014 and down 30.2 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $50.2 million, decreasing by 50.8 percent year on year and down 24.5 percent compared to the previous month.


 
In the January-September period, Turkey's cold rolled coil imports declined by five percent to 519,439 mt, while the value of these imports amounted to $291.7 million, falling by 22 percent, both year on year.
 
In the January-September period this year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 229,021 metric tons, down 4.2 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 90,527 metric tons, down 15.1 percent compared to the January-September period of 2014.
