In June this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports decreased by 12.9 percent month on month to 57,630 mt compared to the previous month and were down 41 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $35.22 million, decreasing by 11.4 percent month on month and down 79.7 percent year on year.
In the first half of the current year, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 377,599 mt, down 11.03 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 26.4 percent to $219.04 million, both year on year.
In the first six months, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 186,867 mt, down 0.10 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 57,234 mt, falling by 29.81 percent compared to the same period of 2016.
