TUIK: Turkey's steel import value down 29.8 percent in H1

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in June this year the value of Turkey's iron and steel imports decreased by 33.6 percent year on year, totaling $1.06 billion. In the given month, iron and steel ranked in third place among the most imported products of the country in terms of value. In the first half, the value of Turkey's iron and steel imports totaled $7.24 billion, decreasing by 29.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

In June, the country's imports of articles of iron or steel were not recorded among the products with the highest import value.
