TUIK: Turkey's steel export value up 11 percent in January

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Ministry of Economy, in January this year Turkey's foreign trade deficit decreased by 72.5 percent to $2.5 billion compared to January 2018.

In January of the current year, Turkey's iron and steel exports ranked third among the country's products with the highest export value, totaling $948 million, increasing by 11 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given month the value of exports of articles of iron or steel, which ranked 10th among the products with the highest export value, increased by 3.4 percent year on year, amounting to $479.2 million.
