Tube City IMS granted ‘Contractor of the Year’ award by Corus

Pittsburgh, US-based provider of products and services to steel mills and foundries Tube City IMS Corporation announced on May 18 that its Scunthorpe, England-based subsidiary Tube City IMS UK has received the ‘Contractor of the Year' award from its major customer European steelmaker Corus, a subsidiary of Indian steel giant Tata Steel Group.

A Tube City press release said that the award, which recognizes suppliers to Corus' Scunthorpe steelworks who excel in safety performance and customer satisfaction, was presented at Corus' annual Scunthorpe Excellence Awards ceremony in Scunthorpe, adding that this is the first time Tube City IMS has received the award.

"We are honored that Tube City IMS UK has been recognized by Corus for safety and customer satisfaction. Our operators are the true winners of this award for their commitment to safety and providing outstanding service to Corus in Scunthorpe," said William Miller, executive vice president of Tube City IMS.
