Speaking to local press, Alp Topçuoğlu, a board member of Tosyalı Algerie, Algeria-based unit of Turkish steelmaker Tosyalı, said that the company is targeting 500,000 mt of rebar exports in the coming year. He said that they have exported almost 70,000 mt of rebar to the US so far this year, accounting for 10 percent of their production. Mr. Topçuoğlu went on to say that they have signed a deal to supply water pipes to Romania, which will support their export target.
In 2018, Tosyalı Algerie produced 2.2 million mt of crude steel, while the company plans to reach over 3 million mt of crude steel production in the current year.
