Tosyalı Algerie, Algerian-based unit of Turkish steelmaker Tosyalı, registered record daily direct reduced iron (DRI) production of 7,700 mt in the past eight months, after commissioning the third phase of its plant, according to media reports.

The company plans to export 150,000 mt of rebar in the current year and 600,000 mt of rebar next year thanks to improved logistical opportunities with port and conveyor facilities to come into operation.

Construction work on the fourth phase of plant facilities has also started at Tosyalı Algerie. Accordingly, when the fourth phase is completed, the plant will produce 6 million mt of flat and long steel products. In the next five years, total finished steel output of Tosyalı Algerie is expected to reach 8 million mt, while the plant’s turnover is expected to exceed $5 billion.
