The Russian pipe producer TMK Group has announced that it won a tender conducted by the Russian oil and gas company TNK-BP and will acquire the latter company's service assets - i.e. Central Pipe Base, Pipe Repair Department, and a building complex which is currently under construction in Nyagan.

The service companies in question specialize in the repair of tubing pipes, piston rods and pipe coatings, in the manufacturing of pipe column sections and other downhole equipment, in addition to providing transportation services for tubular goods to oil fields located in the Urals-Volga and Western-Siberian oil and gas regions.

Upon the completion of the transaction by the end of 2007, TMK plans to develop the companies by expanding their annual repair and finishing capacity to about one million seamless pipes. TMK is also planning to complete the construction of the building complex in Nyagan.
