TISCO to increase its market share in auto industry

Indian steel mill Tata Iron and Steel Corp (TISCO) is reportedly planning to increase its market share in auto industry to 60% by 2009. TISCO's market share of steel supplies to automotive industry is currently 25%. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, TISCO announced that it will increase capacity of Jamshedpur to 7.5 million tons by 2009. Through this expansion, TISCO will be able to control market share of 60% in steel supply to auto industry. TISCO also plans to increase its total production capacity to 15 million tons by 2010. For this purpose, the company will establish steel finishing facilities or acquire existing facilities.
