Automotive production in Brazil reached 264,100 units (cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses) in March, 27.6 percent more than the 206,900 units produced in February 2026, according to the Brazilian Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (ANFAVEA).

Domestic vehicle sales increased by 45.6 percent to 269,400 units, while exports grew by 21.1 percent to 40,000 units, the association said.

Compared with March 2025, March 2026 production increased by 35.6 percent, domestic sales rose by 37.8 percent, and exports increased by 1.1 percent.

ANFAVEA president Igor Calvet noted that March was an outstanding month with no holidays, strong production, and robust sales. However, he emphasized that they remain optimistic but will need to see if this performance continues in the coming months before confirming it's not just a one-off event. Calvet also expressed concern about ongoing global geopolitical instability.
