Taiwan iron ore imports up 4 percent in 2017

According to Taiwan’s custom data, iron ore imports of fines and lumps totaled 23.66 million mt in 2017. Imports increased 4.2 percent year-over-year. The increase was achieved in H1 2017 with 12.76 million mt, up 15.4 percent from the 11.06 million mt imported in H1 2016. During H2 2017, imports declined 6.4 percent to 10.90 million mt from 11.64 million mt in the same period the previous year.
