A strike that began on October 13 at Gerdau’s mill in the state of Sao Paulo ended after the steelmaker offered a wage increase to its workers.

About 400 workers at Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau in the city of Sao Jose dos Campos, in the state of Sao Paulo, went on strike on October 13, asking for better wages. Production at the site was halted as well, according to a local union.

A local union said that was the longest strike in Gerdau’s history.

As a result of the deal, the workers will receive a 15 percent readjustment in their salaries and “stability” in their jobs for 90 days. Additionally, they won’t be discounted for the days they didn’t work.
