Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that it plans to double steel supply to countries in Central Asia and Caucasus compared to 2022 to one million mt, as a number of major infrastructure projects are being implemented in the CIS countries.
“We are ready to provide customers not only with ordinary rolled metal products, but also with new types of products, as well as Techconsulting services and advanced engineering,” Victor Nikiforov, head of export sales at Severstal, said.
The company’s market share in the given countries increased from four percent to seven percent in recent years. As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Severstal was among the first mills to be sanctioned by the EU, which was the company’s key sales outlet, forcing it to find alternative markets, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
