Poland-based JSW declares force majeure amid fire at Pniówek mine

Poland-based coking coal producer Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa SA (JSW) has announced that it has declared force majeure, due to the fire occurred on December 6 at its Pniówek mine.

The company estimates that the event may result a production loss by 350,000 mt in 2024.

The works carried out to extinguish the fire have ended on December 20.

In May 2022, JSW declared force majeure following two consecutive accidents at its mines, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
