Mexico’s Ministry of Economy has announced that it has lifted the definitive countervailing duties (CVD) on the imports of graphite electrodes for electric arc furnaces (EAFs) from China and the UK.

CVD rates for Chinese producers/exporter were 38 percent for M. Brashem Inc, 42 percent for Jilin Carbon, 93 percent for  Nantong Yangzi Carbon, 185 percent for Henan Sanli Carbon Products, 250 percent  Sichuan Guanghan Shida Carbon and 250 percent for all others. The UK-based exporter UKCG was also subject to a 250 percent CVD rate as it exported graphite electrodes originating from China.

The duties were first imposed in September 2015.
