Mechel’s Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant launches new production line

Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, has announced that on December 18 its subsidiary Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant launched a new production line for steel electrode copper-coated wire.

The new production line has an annual production capacity of 7,900 mt, including 4,200 mt of 0.8 to 2.0 mm steel electrode copper-coated wire and 3,700 mt of 3.0 mm bright wire.

"The steel electrode wire is in steady demand and is used in the construction, energy, automobile, oil and gas industries. The Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant has proved itself as a reliable supplier of copper-coated wire. With this launch, the enterprise will boost its presence in the hardware market," Mechel chairman Igor Zyuzin said.
