Canada-based Largo Resources said vanadium production out of its Maracás Menchen mine in Brazil reached 2,952 mt in Q3, 17 percent up, quarter-on-quarter, and 15 percent up, year-on-year. Largo said the 2,952 mt vanadium production was the company’s new output record thus far in a quarter.
The company also said its expansion project is in the “final stages of commissioning following the start-up of the new ball mill in September.”
“Operations at the Maracás Menchen mine continued to produce strong results in Q3 2019 following increased production as a result of the expansion project,” CEO Paulo Misk said.
“Following two consecutive quarters of reported cash operating costs excluding royalties below our previously stated annual average cash cost guidance, management is very confident that its newly updated cash cost guidance for the year will be achieved in 2019,” he said.
