Exports of niobium ferroalloys from Brazil increase in July

Brazil exported 7,700 mt of niobium ferroalloys in July, against 6,200 mt in June.

The exports in July were destined to Asia (5,779 mt, of which 3,985 mt at $25,485/mt to China), Europe (1,661 mt at $25,227/mt), and the US (213 mt at $24,702), all FOB conditions, while smaller volumes were shipped to South Africa and to Chile.

The exports were from CBMM, the world’s largest producing company (5,694 mt at $25,996/mt), and CMOC (1,505 mt at $24,734/mt), while 500 mt at $24,111/mt were exported from irregular operations in the state of Amazonas.

The world’s largest producer of niobium ferroalloys, Brazil, exported 52,685 mt of the product during the first seven months of 2024, with total revenues of $1.347 billion, against respectively 50,932 mt and $1.330 billion during the same period in 2023.
